HELP!

I need to combine several difference spreadsheets where the common denominator is a file reference number. Some spreadsheets detail the file name, estimated costs, location, other spreadsheets detail the final cost, deductions etc. I am tearing my hair out manually going between the sheets to combine the data. How do I combine the sheets and in some cases, also sum up the numberical value in two columns to give me a final value?

MissMommy - regarding people changing header names - just trying to think outside the box, but can you not programmatically refer to them by column reference rather than column name? maybe not - just a thought, and I dont know the answer :D
