Those of you who tried to hit the website last weekend may have noticed the site has been down. Apparently My ISP was rebuilding the RAID or some such nonsense. I called them to give them a piece of my mind, but unfortunately I’m not educated enough to complain intelligently.
.
I’m lucky I have this blog up and running in the first place. Throw some internet jargon at me and I’m immediately disarmed. Here’s how the conversation went.
ME: HI, my website is down. I want some answers on why and when the issue will be resolved….damn it.
.
Some guy in India named Lance: Hold please.
.
ME: Sure…make it snappy.
.
Some guy in India named Lance: Jessie says that the raid on iis510 is rebuilding. While this is going on there may be slowness or downtime for the related functions and some cp services on this machine. ETA is currently unknown but we will update when we have more information.
.
ME: So turning on my cookies won’t fix it?
.
Some guy in India named Lance: No.
.
ME: Ok…..well…..ok then.
.
Some guy in India named Lance: Is there anything else I can do for you?
.
ME: Besides get my website up?
.
Some guy in India named Lance:Yes?
.
ME: No thanks….I’m good.
.
Some guy in India named Lance: OK then…bye.
.
Don’t you just love impotent rage?

ROTFLMAO
I hate it when someone raids the iis510 at my hosting service.
But I think that Indian guy misunderstood your question. He probably thought you were talking about browser-type cookies, and you were obviously thinking about chocolate chip bacon cookies. I’d call back and clarify.
Jiggle the cord. That always works for me.
Did you try to reboot first? 99% of the time that fixes the problem or at least after jiggling the cord…
oh.. so it was down. I saw a page trying to sell potency medicines, and I am like, “now this guy is selling that too.. man, cant we have any niche… ?”
Good to see the blog back.
