I’m pretty busy today, so here’s a quick one.
Did you know you can quickly jump to the last cell in a column or a row with a simple double-click of the mouse?

Note: Be careful of blank cells. If you have a blank cell in the column or row, the cursor will jump to the last cell before the blank cell.

I discovered that accidentally. Of course, it wasn’t what I wanted to do, so I had to get back to where I was.
I’m starting to miss a “back” button. So I go and find the “back” and “forward” buttons for the QAT. Now I can’t figure out what they do. Just moving around what activate them.
Thanks this will help!
Why did you stop at “down” and “right”? You can also double click the left border to move to the left-most column and double click the top border to move to the top-most row.
Aaah – that’s why that happens. I’ve come across it a couple of times accidentally, but have never taken any time to reproduce it. I always thought, “Why would I need a mouse shortcut to get to the end of a range when I can just use Ctrl+arrow?”
News to me! Good tip
Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention in my previous message… hold down the Shift key while you double click the borders and you will also select cells while moving to the indicated cell.
Rick: Nice one! I didn’t even think about trying that.
Omar: have a look at my GoBack tool:

Jan, thanks. I’ll look at that soon. Well, since I’m taking a couple week break, it might be a couple weeks! Obviously, I’m not the only one who’s noticed jumping around can be cumbersome.
I hate this feature. I always do it accidentally when I am trying to enter a cell to edit. In big spreadsheets, its a pain to have to go back to where you were.
A more useful tip (for me) would be finding a way to disable it.
Hi, Ron. An option is the F2 key. Regards, Pete
Great post!
