It’s summer time and blog readership will be down. So I’m saving my good Excel and Access tricks for later. Right now, I m continuing a series called ‘Road of the Excel Bastards’.
This is my take on a series called Road of the Excel Masters started a long time ago by Excel MVP, Colo. In his series, he would interview Excel gurus, asking them Excel related questions.
In my version, I’m asking questions that have nothing to do with Excel. Let’s get to know our Excel gurus through the prism of 10 stupid questions.
Today’s Excel Bastard is Jon Peltier!

Jon is the recognized expert in Excel charting and visualizations. His site, PelitierTech.com, has long been the starting point for many Excel analysts needing to build Excel charts. He’s also one of the few people that can pull off that bad-ass Pirate goatee he’s got.
Here is my thought provoking interview with Jon Peltier, Excel Guru.
DataPig: What’s your favorite thing in your refrigerator right now?
Jon: The steaks I’m going to grill for dinner.

DataPig: Red Shirt or Blue?
Jon: Now I’m wearing gray, but given a choice, red.

DataPig: How many hats do you have?
Jon: About a dozen. A cowboy hat I haven’t worn in 30 years, a wool cap for when I’m shoveling snow, and a bunch of baseball caps.
Here’s Jon about to “shovel snow” – if that’s what you call it these days.

DataPig: Who plays your role in a movie about Excel?
Jon: Tom Selleck. Or maybe Brad Pitt, because Tom’s getting on.

Ok – good choices. But I have a third option.

DataPig: Which Superpower do you want: Invisibility, Flight, Strength, or Mind Reading?
Jon: Mind reading would come in handy when working with my favorite people, clients. And with my favorite person, my wife.

DataPig: What’s the title of your autobiography?
Jon: Buy this Book.

DataPig: Who do you like better, Tom or Jerry?
Jon: I forget, which is which…you need both Tom and Jerry, or else there’s no plot line.
OMG – that’s probably the best answer I’ve heard on the topic.

DataPig: What’s the most important part of the sandwich?
Jon: The meat, duh.
Too bad all that pesky bread gets in the way.

DataPig: What’s the Best thing you ever ate?
Jon: Probably something wrapped in bacon – Or grilled – Or both.

DataPig: What’s the Worst thing you ever ate?
Jon: Nothing comes to mind.
Well, since Jon apparently seems to be a meat guy, I’m guessing the worst thing he ever ate would resemble this….

Very Funny, good pictures too.
outrageous – Kevin Bacon wrapped in bacon – VERY FUNNY! I have enjoyed your recent Road of the Excel Masters. Thanks.
