It’s summer time and blog readership will be down. So I’m saving my good Excel and Access tricks for later. Right now, I’m continuing my ‘Road of the Excel Bastards’ series.
Today’s Excel Bastard is Chandoo!
The only good picture I could find was very small, so I zoomed in.

Chandoo (aka Purna Chandra) came out of nowhere around 2007 to amaze us all with his innovative Excel tips via his blog Chandoo.org. He has a knack for clean, simple visualization techniques – which he shares freely to all his fans. Here is my head-turning interview with Chandoo, Excel Guru.
DataPig: What’s your favorite thing in your refrigerator right now?
Chandoo: Ripe Alfonso Mangos
Mangos? This is the only person that could interest me in a mango.

DataPig: Red Shirt or Blue?
Chandoo: Red.

DataPig: How many hats do you have?
Chandoo: None…what’s a hat?

DataPig: Who plays your role in a movie about Excel?
Chandoo: Steve Carell.

DataPig: Which Superpower do you want: Invisibility, Flight, Strength, or Mind Reading?
Chandoo: How about “think to type” as in when I look at my computer long and hard at questions like this and start thinking, the answer would type…. now that would be awesome.
Too late Chandoo. Steve Carell has actually invented a machine to do this already.

DataPig: What’s the title of your autobiography?
Chandoo: If I get that think to type power, I could write “cells gone wild”.

DataPig: Who do you like better, Tom or Jerry?
Chandoo: Jerry.

DataPig: What’s the most important part of the sandwich?
Chandoo: I will tell you what is least important – the edges of bread, if they are not cut.
So a sandwich like this wouldn’t do?

DataPig: What’s the Best thing you ever ate?
Chandoo: A chicken salad sandwich from PotBelleys.

DataPig: What’s the Worst thing you ever ate?
Chandoo: Something weird, made with fish I believe. I ate it while I was in Denmark… made me puke, well, almost.
This is a dramatization of the meal that almost made Chandoo toss his cookies.

I guess they cut off the crusts at Pot Belly’s.
I like the zoomed version of me. I should replace my profile pic with that one. He looks like he can get me at least 100 RSS Subs a day
Thanks for featuring me Mike…
Hey, that’s Dr Suresh from Heroes!
Deep-frying a living fish is totally awful. Not impressed, DataPig.
Who is that masked man:
That is Mohinder Suresh from the show Heroes! I wondered how long it would take for someone to pick that up.
“Deep-frying a living fish is totally awful. Not impressed, DataPig”
Hey man, I didn’t do it.
